• an open-ended, hypothetical question is asked: "What if ______ were to happen?"
• a rant disguised as a question is included: "_______ sucks, doesn't it?"

If any of these examples apply to you, or if your motivation for asking is "I want to participate in a discussion about ______", then you should ask on our mailing lists instead. However, if your motivation is "I want others to explain ______ to me", that is likely fine.
